John was born in San Francisco, grew up in the East Bay and attended CalPoly for a Bachelor of Science in computer science. Shortly after graduating he started out working in the private sector - first at Qualcomm and then eBay before shifting to smaller companies. John has participated in every part of the software development life cycle and enjoys coming up with creative solutions to the variety of complex problems.
John is passionate about open source software, excellent software development practices and learning. Outside of work he is an active member of his church, loves his wife and children, watching movies, taking pictures and playing games.
