Ovie has spent the last 15 years working in local government in vastly different areas ranging from IT to the Office of Performance and Innovation. She loves people and jumps at opportunities to meet new faces or facilitate conversations around change. She was born, raised, and attended college in North Carolina but moved to work in Oregon for about a year, where she focused on continuous improvement and chaired THRIVE, the organization's first Employee Resource Group. Ovie has three kids, and the middle kid has a kid. Technically this would make her a grandmother, but she prefers "Gigi" because it has a ring to it. When not working, Ovie spends as much time as possible at the beach, searching for live music or spending time with her family. She also enjoys reading and podcasting.
