Kelsey is a thespian and storyteller turned user experience problem solver. After earning an undergraduate degree in Theatre and Fashion Merchandising from Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan, Kelsey moved to Chicago to grow her corporate career with Nordstrom. After spending years in retail management, she sought to challenge herself and return to her storytelling roots by pursuing a Masters of Science in Human-Computer Interaction at DePaul University. While at DePaul, she honed her skills working at the DePaul Innovation Development Lab with clients such as Kimberly Clark, Baxter International, and Abbott Labs. Upon graduation Kelsey joined Kin and Carta as a User Experience Researcher and spent her time triangulating the quantitative to qualitative data. She evangelized user experience processes as well as organizational frameworks to enhance agile practices for clients. Kelsey loves unpacking complicated and tackling wicked problems. For her, user experience design starts with recognizing your own biases to truly empathize with the user and tell their story. When Kelsey isn’t trying to empathize with users, you can find her efoiling with her husband in Naples, Florida, or playing with her furchild Harvey.
