Melissa is a software engineer currently living in Palo Alto, CA. Prior to Truss, she was a full-stack/backend leaning engineer at several unicorn startups in the Bay Area, including Airbnb and Modern Health, where she scaled and drove product eng development. Melissa is a voracious learner who loves solving complex problems from first principles and writing clean, extensible code. Outside of work, Melissa finds fulfillment in giving back to the community. She actively coaches earlycareer engineers and was a volunteer for the crisis hotline, offering emotional support to those in need. In her free time, Melissa embraces her love for adventure, indulging in her passion for rock climbing and spending time outdoors. Her insatiable wanderlust has taken her all over the globe, often journeying in her converted van, in search of new cliffs to climb and fellow adventurers to connect with.
